Coverage notes
Cocoa, natural rubber, tea, bananas and softwood timber have no free supply–demand balance source (ICCO and industry-group data are subscription products) — they are covered by price data; FAOSTAT annual production/trade is the planned addition for them and for pulses. Coffee balances are total green coffee (arabica/robusta split exists only in prices). Sugar balances are total centrifugal sugar; the raw/white split is a futures-market distinction and ICE contracts are licensed. FCOJ has USDA balances but no free price benchmark (ICE futures licensed) — the World Bank orange price is the nearest free proxy; Malaysian sawnwood/logs proxy softwood lumber (Random Lengths is paid). Fertiliser balances (IFA) are subscription-only — fertilisers are covered by prices; ammonia/UAN are CRU (paid), proxied by urea + natural gas. Sheep meat has no free balance source (USDA discontinued lamb PSD) — covered by World Bank lamb price and EU carcass prices; FAOSTAT annual is the planned addition. Eggs have no free global benchmark — EU barn-egg prices (from 2022) are the free coverage; US egg prices (USDA AMS / FRED) are a planned addition. Fisheries & aquaculture have no balances — World Bank shrimp & fishmeal prices plus planned FAOSTAT/EUMOFA annual data. Pork has no World Bank price series — EU class-E carcass price is the benchmark shown.
Methodology
Currency conversion, the USD strength index (equal-weighted geometric mean vs 15 AMIS-country currencies, Jan 2015 = 100) and the urea÷wheat affordability ratio (2019 = 100) are Farrelly Mitchell calculations. Indices (GOI, GOFI, FPI, COT, USD index) are never currency-converted. Figures carry each source's revision policy. Not investment advice.
